Ungodly Ambition

Acts 8:14-25

We desire the move of the Holy Spirit in our midst and pray for it. Sometimes the revival desired is delayed because the motive of the ministers is not pure. Simon could see the manifestation of the Holy Spirit as the Apostles laid hands on the people. His motive was however that the people start to revere him as a powerful man, as he was revered when he dazzled them with his sorcery. Peter rebuked him sharply. When the ministers’ motive is that men may know that they are powerful “men of God” and when the motive of members of the congregation is just to consume the blessings of God, God’s move cannot manifest. God will not share His glory with any man.

Point of Emphasis:    Those who have ungodly ambition have no part or portion in God’s move.

Prayer Point:             Father, purge us of all hidden ungodly motives. Renew a right spirit within us.
