Angry Person In Danger Of Judgment

Matt. 5:21-26

Anger has its proper place if it is directed at awakening the offender to repentance, prevent his doing so again and to give warning to others. But often its intention is just to show our authority, to let people know our resentments, to exact revenge or to hurt those who offend us. These are negative intentions which are tantamount to heart murder. When we do not have the opportunity to hurt the offender physically, we may result into verbal abuse, derogatory comments or even curses, which the word “raca” connotes. Besides these, there are instances when anger is shown without a good cause. Example is when we are angry at someone for doing things which sometimes we do, but for which we give excuse. For example imagine a husband getting angry with the wife for forgetting something. Is the husband above such mistake?
Point of Emphasis: Anger arising from negative intension will likely bring dangerous consequence.
Prayer Point: I bring my emotions under your control, Holy Spirit. Help me to have tight control.

L’HOMME COLEREUX RISQUE LE JUGEMENT

MATTHIEU 5:21-26

La colère a sa propre place si elle vise à éveiller l’offenseur à la repentance, à prévenir contre toute répétition et à avertir les autres. Mais souvent, son intention est pour simplement montrer notre autorité, à faire connaître aux gens nos ressentiments, à nous venger ou à faire du mal à ceux qui nous offensent. Ce sont là des intentions négatives qui équivalent à un meurtre cardiaque. Quand l’occasion d’attaquer physiquement l’offenseur ne se présente pas à nous, nous pouvons recourir à des injures, à des remarques dérogatoires, voire à des malédictions que suggère le substantif ‘raca’. En plus de celles-ci, il y a des cas où la colère se manifeste sans motif valable. Un bel exemple est quand nous sommes en colère contre quelqu’un pour avoir fait ce que nous faisons souvent, mais pour lequel nous trouvons des excuses. Imaginons un mari qui est en colère contre sa femme pour avoir oublié quelque chose. Le mari est-il au-dessus d’une telle faute ?

Point essentiel : La colère provenant d’une intention négative pourrait entraîner une conséquence dangereuse.
