Let Your Garment Be White

Eccl. 9:1-8

As you are preparing for the second coming of Christ, the admonition of the preacher to you is that let your garments be always white and let your head lack no oil. Among the Jews, they wore white garments on festal occasions, as emblems of joy and innocence. The “garment” here is used metaphorically to mean one’s character and personality and it denotes that one’s life must be washed and pure from the stains of sin by the blood of Jesus. One must be holy, righteous, transparent and honest in all one does. In addition, oil symbolically represents the Holy Spirit. For you to make it to heaven, you must be filled with the Holy Spirit who will lead, direct, instruct, and assist you in all you do. Are you holy? Do you rely on Holy Spirit?

Point of Emphasis:          Without holiness, no one can see God.

Prayer Point:                                     Lord, I want to be holy always, sanctify and purify me in Jesus’ name.

QUE TON VETEMENT SOIT BLANC

ECCL. 9:1-8

 Comme tu te prépares au second avènement de Christ, l’instruction du prédicateur pour toi est que tes vêtements soient toujours blancs et que ta tête ne soit pas dépourvue d’huile. Parmi les Juifs, ils portaient des vêtements blancs pendant des occasions de fêtes comme des emblèmes de joie et d’innocence. Le ‘vêtement’ est ici utilisé de façon métaphorique pour signifier notre caractère et notre personnalité et dénote que notre propre vie doit être pure et lavée de toutes les taches de péché par le sang de Jésus. L’on doit être saint, juste, transparent et honnête dans tout ce que l’on fait. En plus, l’huile représente de façon symbolique le Saint-Esprit. Pour que tu puisses y parvenir au ciel, tu dois être rempli du Saint-Esprit qui te guidera, dirigera, instruira et t’assistera dans tout ce que tu fais. Es-tu saint ? Fais-tu confiance au Saint-Esprit ?

Point essentiel : Sans la sanctification, personne ne peut voir Dieu.

Axe de prière : Seigneur, je veux être toujours saint ; sanctifie et purifie-moi au nom de Jésus.
