A Call for Separation

2 Cor. 6:14-18

The prevailing trend today is to try to reach agreement in everything that peace may prevail. While not being against agreement for peace to reign, such agreements must be limited only to human and interpersonal relationship and not on spiritual matters, like Christians trying to join the unbelievers in idolatry and other worldly practices. As there cannot be any agreement between light and darkness, or between Christ and Balial, so there cannot be any basis of agreement between the Christian way of life and the worldly trends. The Bible commands us Christians, being the temple of the living God, not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. In fact, it states unequivocally that we should come out from among them and be separate.

Point of Emphasis:         Come out from among them and be ye separate.

Prayer Point:                  God I dedicate myself to You afresh; help me not to entangle myself with worldly practices again.

APPEL A LA SEPARATION

2 CO. 6 :14-18

La tendance qui prévaut de nos jours est d’essayer de trouver un accord en toutes choses afin que la paix puisse prévaloir. Quoique n’étant pas contre l’accord pour que la paix règne, de tels accords doivent être limités seulement aux relations humaines et interpersonnelles et non pas aux questions spirituelles comme les chrétiens essayant de joindre les incroyants dans l’idolâtrie et d’autres pratiques mondaines. Comme il ne peut avoir aucun accord entre la lumière et l’obscurité, ou entre Christ et Bélial, il ne peut donc pas avoir de raison d’accord entre le mode de vie chrétienne et les tendances mondaines. La Bible recommande à nous chrétiens, étant le temple du Dieu vivant, de ne pas nous mettre avec les incroyants. Il dit en fait sans équivoque que nous devons sortir de leur milieu et nous séparer d’eux.

Point essentiel : Sortez du milieu d’eux et séparez-vous.

Axe de prière : Dieu, je me consacre de nouveau à toi, aide-moi à ne plus m’enlacer dans les pratiques mondaines.
