Conditions For Receiving The Holy Spirit

Acts 2:36-41

People march out to be prayed for to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and go back disappointed because nothing has happened. Often it is because they have not fulfilled the conditions necessary for the baptism. Peter told those who asked what they needed to do to be baptised to repent and be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins. Without repentance and forsaking of wicked ways, it is not possible to be baptised in the Holy Spirit. There must be hunger and thirst for the baptism and the faith to receive. Many have gone through doctrines of men which discourage the expectation to be baptised. Such doctrines must be abandoned. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is not to decorate the Christian but to prepare him for service. Anyone who desires the baptism necessarily needs to align his core values with the word of God and be committed to evangelism and some kind of ministry.

Point of Emphasis:        Repent and be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer Point:            Fill my cup Lord, come and quench the thirst in my soul for Your Holy Spirit.

LES CONDITIONS POUR RECEVOIR LE SAINT-ESPRIT

ACTES 2 :36-41

Les gens sortent afin qu’on prie pour eux pour qu’ils reçoivent le baptême du Saint-Esprit et repartent déçus car rien ne s’est passé. Souvent, c’est parce qu’ils n’ont pas rempli les conditions nécessaires au baptême. Pierre dit à ceux qui demandaient ce dont ils avaient besoin de faire pour être baptisés pour la repentance et pour être baptisés au nom de Jésus-Christ pour la rémission de leurs péchés. Sans la repentance et l’abandon de mauvaises voies, ce n’est pas possible d’être baptisé du Saint-Esprit. Il doit y avoir la faim et la soif pour le baptême et la foi à recevoir. Beaucoup sont passés par les doctrines des gens qui découragent l’attente d’être baptisés. De telles doctrines doivent être délaissées. Le baptême du Saint-Esprit n’est pas pour décorer le chrétien mais de le préparer au service. Quiconque désire le baptême a nécessairement besoin d’aligner ses valeurs fondamentales sur la parole de Dieu et d’être dévoué à l’évangélisation et à d’autres genres de ministères.         

Point essentiel : Repente-toi et sois baptisé au nom de Jésus-Christ et tu recevras le don du Saint-Esprit.
