‘Unholy Priests’ Under Levitical Priesthood

Lev. 21:16-23

God set His standard for every generation. He enacts His standard for His priests under levitical priesthood. He stated categorically that “… speak to Aaron, saying: ‘No man of your descedants in succeeding generations, who has any defect, may approach to offer the bread of his God (v. 17). Only he shall not go near the veil or approach the altar because he has a defect” (verse 23a). Sin is the defect that can hinder one from approaching the throne of God or offer the sacrifice acceptable to God, not physical defect. In our generation the key fact to approach God is “holiness”; without holiness, no one can see God. Make yourself holy today and you will see that God is not far from you.

Point of Emphasis:         Sin is repulsive to God not physical defect; confess, repent and you will become an effective priest.

Prayer Point:                  Every defect depriving me from being a holy priesthood unto the Lord, be neutralised in Jesus’ name.
