Securing Good Success Through The Word

Josh. 1:1-8

God instructed Joshua to read the book of the law, to meditate on it and to practise all that he was commanded therein if he was to have good success. His reading was not supposed to be haphazard but systematic and a daily affair. We often blame God for our failures, when as a matter of fact we are ignorant of His laws. To achieve good success, we need to study the Bible to receive instructions on what to do in each situation we may find ourselves. Do not read the Bible just to fulfil all righteousness. Your reading must be purposeful. For you to make the best of your Bible reading, have a definite reading plan. Start with one version of the Bible, going through your reading with a suitable speed and rhythm. Meditate on what you read, mark out (neatly underline) and memorise the verses that speak to you.

Point of Emphasis:        Observing and doing according to God’s laws ensure good success.

Prayer Point:            Father, grant me a willing and obedient spirit that readily obeys Your laws.
