Church Members Become Worldly

Jam. 4:1-6

The Christian lives in the world and interacts daily with the world system. One of the tell-tale signs that a Christian needs revival is the desire by the Christian to be like the people of the world – to think like them, talk like them, sing like them,  dress like them, pursue life’s goals like them, have the same value system like them. A Christian whose desire is to be like the world has made himself an enemy of God. He needs revival urgently. It is sad to see that in many Churches the members struggle to make the Church more worldly. It appears that Churches are competing to be the first to make the Church so worldly that every member feels at home no matter the lifestyle. Is your pastor leading you to heaven or to hell?

Point of Emphasis:     Worldliness turns a Christian into an enemy of God but genuine revival turns him back to God.

Prayer Point:              Father, burn off every form of worldliness in me and fill me with desire for You.

LES MEMBRES DE L’EGLISE DEVIENNENT MONDAINS

JACQUES 4:1-6

Le chrétien vit dans le monde et interagit avec le système mondial. Un des signes révélateurs qu’un chrétien a besoin de réveil est le désir par celui-ci d’être comme les gens du monde – de penser comme eux, de parler comme eux, de chanter comme eux, de s’habiller comme eux, de poursuivre les buts de la vie comme eux, d’avoir le même système de valeur comme eux. Un chrétien dont le désir est de ressembler au monde se constitue en ennemi de Dieu. Il a urgemment besoin de réveil. C’est triste de voir que dans plusieurs églises, les membres s’efforcent d’attribuer à l’église un caractère plus mondain. Il semble que les églises rivalisent pour être la première à attribuer à l’église un caractère mondain à tel point que chaque membre se sente à l’aise quel que soit le style de vie. Est-ce que ton pasteur te conduit au ciel ou à l’enfer ?  

Point essentiel : La mondanité rend un chrétien en ennemi de Dieu mais le réveil sincère le tourne à Dieu.

Axe de prière : Père, brule chaque forme de mondanité en moi et remplis-moi de ton désir.
