Contending Or Surrendering

Jude 1-4

Jude speaks boldly on behalf of God to believers of all ages like an Old Testament prophet, calling them back to the changeless God who is victorious and will include His people in the victory. Confrontation is sometimes a necessary tool to be used to rectify, purify, and unify an organisation. Jude, after sending greetings to those called and sanctified by God, exhorts us to contend earnestly for our faith. If you fully tap into God’s abundant resources through His grace, you will neither surrender nor be among those who slip in unnoticed, taking God for granted and using God’s kindness for illicit sexual affairs. The word “contend” (greek – epagonizomal) requires that we must exert ourselves to the utmost in the defence of God’s word and the New Testament faith and not surrender to any alternative.

Point of Emphasis:         “The faith” is more than objective truth, it is a way of life. Live it and contend for it.

Prayer Point:                  God, give me the grace to live faithfully under the solemn obligation to contend for the faith.

COMBATTRE OU SE RENDRE

JUDE 1-4

Jude parle avec assurance pour le compte de Dieu à ses croyants de tous âges en tant que prophète de l’Ancien Testament, en les faisant revenir au Dieu immuable qui est victorieux et qui impliquera son peuple dans la victoire. La confrontation est souvent un outil nécessaire à utiliser pour rectifier, purifier et unifier une organisation. Jude, après avoir présenté ses salutations à ceux qui sont appelés et sanctifiés par Dieu, nous exhorte de combattre instamment pour notre foi.  Si tu tires pleinement parti des ressources abondantes de Dieu par sa grâce, tu ne te rendras ni ne sera du nombre de ceux qui dérapent inaperçus, ne faisant aucun cas de Dieu et se servant de la bonté de Dieu pour des affaires sexuelles illicites.  Le mot ‘combattre ‘ en grec ‘epagonizomal’ exige que nous devons nous exercer au maximum dans la défense de la parole de Dieu et de la foi du Nouveau Testament et que nous ne nous rendons pas à quelque alternative que ce soit.

Point essentiel : ‘La foi’ est plus que la vérité objective, c’est un mode de vie. Mène-la et combats pour elle.

Axe de prière : Dieu, accorde-moi la grâce de vivre fidèlement sous l’obligation solennelle de combattre pour la foi.
