Giving Is Sowing; Harvest Is Guaranteed

2 Cor. 9:1-11

Our giving can be in the form of assistance to the needy, especially to saints. Giving is a form of sowing a seed. “He who has pity upon the poor lends unto the LORD and that which he has given will He pay him again” (Prov. 19: 17). “The generous soul will be made rich and he who waters will also be watered himself (Prov. 11: 25). The resources, which God gives us, have two components – the bread which we consume ourselves and the seed which God expects us to sow into the lives of other people. Our giving should be done willingly and not grudgingly. When we do it as a matter of obligation, we lose the reward. The harvest we reap is in proportion to our giving. He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Mature Christians know that giving is an avenue for bountiful harvest.

Point of Emphasis:        He has dispersed abroad, he has given to the poor, his righteousness endures forever.

Prayer Point:            God, give me the grace to give to support the needy in Jesus’ name.

DONNER, C’EST SEMER: LA MOISSON EST GARANTIE.

2CO. 9 :1-11
