Restored Dwelling Place

Eph. 2:17-22

Before redemption, God could not dwell with man because of the presence of sin. Jesus brought cleansing through His blood and now the believer has been made holy for the habitation of God. It is dumbfounding to think of the Creator of heaven and earth – whom the heaven and earth cannot contain – to decide to reside in man. But God said “I will dwell in them and walk among them, I will be their God and they shall be my people” (2 Corinthians 6: 16). The believer has been restored as a befitting place for the Holy Spirit to dwell in. A mature Christian, who realises that he has been cleansed to serve as the temple of God, will strive daily to make this temple clean and sanctified as holy. To choose to go into sin, is to decide to destroy the temple and make it unfit for God’s habitation.

Point of Emphasis:        Do you not know that your body is the temple of God?

Prayer Point:            Purge me of all that want to make me unfit for Your habitation, O God.

LA DEMEURE RETABLIE

EPH. 2 :17-22

Avant la rédemption, Dieu ne pouvait pas vivre avec l’homme à cause de la présence du péché. Jésus apporta la purification par son sang et le croyant a été dès lors rendu saint pour l’habitation de Dieu. C’est ahurissant de penser au créateur des cieux et de la terre, que les cieux et la terre ne peuvent pas contenir, de décider de résider dans l’homme. Mais Dieu dit : « Quel rapport y a-t-il entre le temple de Dieu et les idoles? Car nous sommes le temple du Dieu vivant, comme Dieu l’a dit: J’habiterai et je marcherai au milieu d’eux; je serai leur Dieu, et ils seront mon peuple» (2Co. 6:16). Le croyant a été rétabli comme un lieu digne pour la demeure du Saint-Esprit. Un chrétien  mûr qui se rend compte qu’il a été purifié pour servir comme le temple de Dieu, s’efforce tous les jours de rendre le temple propre et sanctifié comme saint. Choisir d’aller dans le péché est de décider de détruire le temple et de le rendre impropre à l’habitation de Dieu.      

Point essentiel : Ne sais-tu pas que ton corps est le temple de Dieu?

Axe de prière : O Dieu, purge-moi de tout ce qui veut me rendre impropre à ton habitation.
