THE RESURRECTION TREE

Sunday 1^st March, 2015.

“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:52).

While building our house, we noticed a particular tree on the site. This tree will wither away completely in December of every year to the extent that one would think that it will never live again but within the next two weeks, it will be all flourishing, blossoming and all green again. I personally named the tree the resurrection tree or December tree, even though I don’t know its botanical name for this tree. It reminds me of the body of man which will wither and decay at death, seemingly dissolve onto the ground and one would think it has all ended.

Moses and Elijah appeared on the mountain of transfiguration in super bodies glowing and without blemish.
and was transfigured before them and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light” Matthew17:2.

The circumstances of the death of some people is such that their physical bodies are shattered and destroyed, some die through accidents or bomb blast leaving nothing but fragments behind. Some bodies were never found. One may begin to wonder if all these categories of people will have a new body, the bible tells us that.

“And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works” (Revelation 20:13).

So they will all have a new body. For everyone of us, death is not the end; when we die we don’t just become fertilizer for the soil as some suggest. If we died in Jesus we will receive new bodies, incorruptible bodies. We may not be too satisfied with how our bodies look now but then we shall be satisfied and live eternally.

L’ARBRE DE LA RESURRECTION

« En un instant, en un clin d’œil, à la dernière trompette, la trompette sonnera, et les morts ressusciteront incorruptibles, et nous, nous serons changés» (1 Corinthiens 15:52).

En construisant notre maison, nous observions un arbre particulier sur le site. Cet arbre se dessèche complètement au mois de Décembre de chaque année à tel point que l’on penserait qu’il ne vivra plus jamais mais dans l’espace de deux semaines, il commence de nouveau à se plaire, à reverdir et à fleurir. Je lui ai personnellement donné le nom d’arbre de résurrection ou l’arbre de Décembre, quoique je ne connaisse même pas le nom botanique. Cela me rappelle le corps de l’homme qui se dessèche et se décompose à la mort et qui se dissout dans la terre et l’on croirait que tout est fini.

 Moïse et Elie apparurent sur la montagne de la transfiguration dans des corps super éclatants et sans taches et Jésus fut transfiguré devant eux et son visage resplendit comme le soleil et ses vêtements devinrent blancs comme la lumière. (Matthieu 17:2).

 Les circonstances dans lesquelles certaines personnes décèdent sont de nature que leurs corps physiques sont écrabouillés et détruits, d’autres meurent à travers des accidents ou des attentats à la bombe ne laissant rien que des fragments. Il y a des corps qui n’ont jamais été repérés. L’on pourrait se demander si toutes ces catégories de personnes auront un corps nouveau, ce que nous dit la Bible :

 « La mer rendit les morts qui étaient en elle, la mort et le séjour des morts rendirent les morts qui étaient en eux; et chacun fut jugé selon ses œuvres» (Apocalypse 20:13).

 Ils auront donc un corps nouveau. Pour tout un chacun de nous, la mort n’est pas une fin en soi. Quand on meurt, on ne devient pas uniquement de l’engrais pour le sol comme certains le suggèrent. Si nous mourrons en Jésus, nous recevons de nouveaux corps, des corps incorruptibles. Nous pouvons ne pas être satisfaits avec la façon dont notre corps se présente actuellement mais enfin nous serons satisfaits et nous vivrons éternellement.
