Giving Of Tithes Is God’s Command
Mal. 3:8-12
Some Christians argue that payment of tithes belongs to the Old Testament times and that Jesus has freed us from the demands of the laws. They cite the criticism which Jesus leveled against the Pharisees who dutifully paid tithes of everything they got (Lk. 11: 42). This passage however does not annul God’s claim that one tenth of a person’s income belongs to Him. He demands that this portion be paid as tithe to Him. He regards anyone who fails to pay tithes as a robber and pronounces curse on the person. Paying tithes is another avenue of getting blessings from God. He promises to pour blessings upon those who are obedient and also to rebuke the devourer on their behalf. Our decision to obey Him by paying our tithes should not be for the fear of the curse rather, it should be motivated by the blessings He has promised. Are you faithful in paying your tithes correctly?
Point of Emphasis: God ordained that the needs within the Church should be met through tithes paid by members.
Prayer Point: God, grant all our members the heart that is willing and obedient to Your command on tithes.

DONNER LES DIMES EST UN COMMANDEMENT DE DIEU
MAL. 3 :8-12
Certains chrétiens soutiennent que le paiement des dîmes ressort de l’époque de l’Ancien Testament et que Jésus nous a libérés des exigences de la loi. Ils mentionnent les critiques formulées par Jésus à l’encontre des Pharisiens qui payaient la dîme de tout ce qu’ils obtenaient. (Luc 11:42). Toutefois, ce passage n’exclut pas la revendication de Dieu de l’appartenance à lui de la dixième partie du revenu d’une personne. Il demande à ce que cette portion lui soit payée pour dîme. Il traite de voleur quiconque manque de payer ses dîmes et profère des malédictions sur la personne. Payer les dîmes est une autre piste d’obtenir des bénédictions de Dieu. Il promet de répandre des bénédictions sur ceux qui sont obéissants et punit aussi pour leur compte le dévoreur. Notre décision de lui obéir par le paiement de nos dîmes ne doit pas être dans la crainte de la malédiction mais plutôt motivée par les bénédictions qu’il nous a promises. Es-tu fidèle à payer correctement tes dîmes ?
Point essentiel : Dieu ordonna que les besoins dans l’église soient remplis à travers les dîmes payées par les membres.
Axe de prière : Dieu, accorde à tous nos membres le cœur prêt à obéir à ton commandement sur les dîmes.
