Growing To Become More Like Christ

Rom. 8:27-32

Spiritual maturity is growing to become like Jesus. One of our favorite hymns start with, “I want to be like Jesus”, and concludes with “but oh, I’m not like Jesus, as anyone may see” God’s providential plan for every Christian is to grow spiritually to become an image of Jesus. He makes available all resources needed for each one to develop to become like Jesus. No honest Christian needs another person to point out in which areas of his life he falls short of the standard of Jesus Christ. The affirmation that we are not yet like Jesus Christ should not throw us into despair because God does not give up on any of us. He intends to take each of us from the point we are presently, shape us through every situation or circumstance He brings our way with the ultimate goal of making us the image of Jesus Christ. In our studies this quarter, we will go through different areas where God wants us to grow and see the resources available for us to reach His goal for us.

Point of Emphasis:        God has predestined us to be conformed to the image of His dear Son.

Prayer Point: Lord, I surrender myself to you. Mould me so that I may conform to the image of Jesus Christ.
