Don’t Pay Evil For Evil

Rom. 12:9-21

Vengeance is common among the people of the world. Their philosophy is “do me I do you,” and “if you slap me once, I reply with three”. In the language of the Bible, it is ‘tooth for tooth’ and ‘eye for eye’ (Exo. 21:24; Matt. 5:38). But this must not be so among the people of God. God Himself knows that we may find some evil people in the church, though this is not supposed to be, but those who know God and who are righteous must not repay anyone with evil. They must not take vengeance, but rather leave the matter to God who will intervene on their behalf. Therefore, when you are wronged by your fellow brethren and as a matter of fact all people, don’t come to their level by repaying them in their coins, but rather forgive and overlook.

Point of Emphasis:         Overcome evil with good deeds.

Prayer Point:                  Give me the grace, oh Lord, to always repay evil with good.

NE RENDS PAS LE MAL POUR LE MAL

ROMAINS 12 :9-21.

La vengeance est monnaie courante parmi les gens du monde. Leur philosophie est ‘de te rendre la pareille’ et ‘si tu me gifles une fois je te réponds par trois fois’. Dans le langage de la Bible, ‘c’est dent pour dent’ et ‘œil pour œil’. (Exode 21 :2444 ; Matt. 5 :38). Mais cela ne doit pas être ainsi parmi le peuple de Dieu. Dieu lui-même sait que nous pouvons avoir des hommes méchants dans l’église, bien que ceci ne soit pas censé être; mais ceux qui connaissent Dieu et qui sont justes ne doivent rendre à personne le mal. Ils ne doivent pas se venger, mais plutôt laisser l’affaire  à Dieu qui interviendra de leur part. Donc, quand tu te sens lésé par tes compagnons et en fait par tout le monde, ne te réduis pas à leur niveau en leur rendant la pareille, mais plutôt pardonne et oublie.           

Point essentiel : Surmonte le bien par le mal.

Axe de prière : Accorde-moi la grâce, O Seigneur, de toujours rendre le mal pour le bien.
