Spouses to Complement Each Other
When God created man, He said “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him” (Genesis 2:18). God’s plan for the family is that the two people starting the family should complement each other. To complement means the wife’s strength should make up for the husbands weakness and vice versa. One spouse should augment the strength of the other spouse and make up for the others failings. It is highly unlikely that a husband and his wife will both be strong in the same area, and both be weak in another area. The family terrain is not an arena for competition between spouses. The family forms a team. When one member wins, everyone in the family wins. And when one member fails, the whole family is affected. One of Satan’s strategies against the family is to frustrate this complementary role of spouses.
Point of Emphasis: Two are better than one when they complement each other positively.
Prayer Point: Father, let your peace and unity reign in families where there is strife now.
