Christians Are God’s Family On Earth
To be a Christian is not to be born into a Christian family or given a Christian name. Rather it is to have a genuine encounter of salvation in Christ and by grace and faith in Christ. Such a person was once living contrary to God’s word, ways and will; was a stranger to the commonwealth of Israel and was without God. But at salvation, he or she is brought near to God and automatically becomes fellow citizen with the saints and members of the household of God (v. 19). Those who have made such decision are now members of God’s family on earth and must relate with one another as family members. Are you part of this family or you are just pretending to be one? God is giving you another opportunity to really belong to this great family on earth.
Point of Emphasis: Genuine salvation is the pre-requisite for membership of God’s family
Prayer Point: Lord, help me not to be a black sheep in God’s family.
