Seeking Godly Counsel
Prov. 11:14-21
By the time many intending couples tell their pastors of their intentions, they have already concluded the matter. All they are asking for is for the pastor to consent and pronounce his blessing on their decision, no counsel is deemed necessary. Those who seek counsel would rather go to their unmarried friends, because they consider the views and counsels of men of God as old fashioned. Sometime ago, a young man who would have fallen into the trap of marrying a demon possessed lady was counseled by a man of God and he took the counsel . Today he is glad to be alive because he sought for godly counsel. When you seek for counsel, look for men of God whose life-pattern follows God’s command in the Bible. Counsel based on worldly wisdom will fail and drive you away from God’s presence.
Point of Emphasis: Where there is no godly counsel, the people fall.
Prayer Point: Father, let me never be deprived of counsels that will empower me to fulfill my destiny.
