Love Covers All Sins

Prov. 10:1-12

When the Bible says love covers all sins, someone may ask, does it mean that when any of our brethren falls into serious sin that can tarnish Christ’s name and we get to know, should we just keep quiet about it because of the love we have for him? This is not what the Bible is saying. We are not to condone sin by covering it from those that can assist us to overcome it. But the word sin here is used in terms of offences, faults, weakness of our fellow brother. For instance, a brother tell you something about another brother, which you know if the latter hears, there will be trouble, but you keep it from that brother, and also find a way of resolving the matter because you want peace to reign, that is love that the Bible is saying that it covers multitude of offences.

Point of Emphasis:         He that covers a transgression seeks love (Prov. 17:9)

Prayer Point:                  Lord, help me to assist a faulty saint to return to holiness.

L’AMOUR  COUVRE TOUTES LES FAUTES

PROVERBES 10 :1-12        

Quand la Bible dit que l’amour couvre toutes les fautes, quelqu’un pourrait demander si cela veut dire que quand quiconque parmi nos frères et sœurs tombe dans un péché grave qui puisse ternir l’image du nom de Christ et que nous arrivons à nous en rendre compte, devons-nous nous taire à propos du fait de l’amour que nous avons pour lui ? Ce n’est pas ce que dit la Bible. Nous ne devons pas tolérer le péché en le couvrant de ceux qui peuvent nous aider à le surmonter. Mais le terme péché est usité ici en termes d’offenses, de fautes, de la faiblesse de notre frère.  Par exemple, un frère te dit quelque chose au sujet d’un autre frère dont tu sais que si ce dernier l’apprend, il y aura des problèmes, mais tu caches cela de ce frère en trouvant un moyen de résoudre l’affaire car tu veux que la paix règne. C’est cet amour dont la Bible dit couvrir une multitude d’offenses.

Point essentiel : Celui qui couvre une faute cherche l’amour. (Pro. 17 :9).

Axe de prière : Seigneur, aide-moi à assister un saint fautif à retourner à la sainteté.
