Baptism In The Early Church

Acts 2:37-41

The apostles of Jesus were obedient to the Lord’s command. Immediately after the Pentecost, they started preaching the gospel. It is instructive to note that they did not do one aspect of Jesus’ command and left the other, rather they did both – preaching and baptising the saved souls. The Bible says, after Peter’s sermon, about 3,000 souls were saved and baptised the same day (v. 41). Some Churches have abandoned some of the Lord’s command but you are lucky to be in a Church that is teaching and preaching the total gospel. You don’t have excuse for not being baptised when it has been made known to you as the Lord’s command.

Point of Emphasis:   The early Church was faithful to the Lord’s command so must you.

Prayer Point:             Lord, help me not to take lightly the issue of baptism.

LE BAPTEME DANS L’EGLISE PRIMITIVE

ACTES 2 :37-41        

Les apôtres de Jésus étaient obéissants à l’ordre du Seigneur. Immédiatement après la Pentecôte, ils se mirent à prêcher l’évangile. Il est instructif de noter qu’ils n’avaient accompli pas un aspect de l’ordre de Jésus et mis de côté l’autre aspect, ils firent plutôt les deux – prêchant et baptisant les âmes sauvées. La Bible dit qu’après le sermon de Pierre environ trois mille âmes furent sauvées et baptisées le même jour. (v.41). Certaines églises ont abandonné certains parmi les ordres du Seigneur mais tu es chanceux d’être dans une église qui enseigne et prêche l’évangile dans toute sa plénitude. Tu n’as pas d’excuse à ne pas te faire baptiser quand cela t’a été montré comme étant l’ordre du Seigneur.                                

Point essentiel : L’église primitive était fidèle à l’ordre du Seigneur. Tu dois en faire de même.

Axe de prière : Seigneur, aide-moi à ne pas prendre à la légère la question du baptême.
