Leader Should Not Be Quick-tempered

Tit. 1:5-9

In every gathering of people there are those who are like sheep, easy to lead and direct; and there are those who can be likened to goats who are not ready to obey instructions or follow the leaders’ directives. The goats will try the patience of their leaders to the breaking point. The disobedient are likely to make the leaders lose their temper often. It is important for a leader to have his emotion under strict control. Getting angry with the disobedient does not help matters. The disobedient appears to enjoy seeing their leader fly into rage. One adage says “do not be harsh, the leader who is harsh will not have followers”. The leader needs to be patient with both the obedient and the disobedient ones under him. It is then that he can have positive impact on the followers. This applies to both the church congregation and other people groups.

Point of Emphasis:      Church leaders should not be quick-tempered, if they are to be effective.

Prayer Point:   Holy Spirit, grant to our leaders the full dose of patience.

UN LEADER NE DOIT PAS S’EMPORTER FACILEMENT

TITE 1:5-9

Dans tout regroupement de gens, il y a ceux qui sont comme des brebis faciles à conduire et à diriger, et il y a ceux qui peuvent être comparés à des chèvres, ceux-là qui ne sont pas prêts à obéir aux instructions et à suivre les directives des leaders. Les chèvres éprouvent la patience de leurs leaders jusqu’au point de rupture. Ceux qui sont désobéissants risquent d’amener les leaders à se mettre souvent en colère. C’est important pour un leader de maintenir son émotion rigoureusement sous contrôle. Se mettre en colère contre ceux qui sont désobéissants n’a pas d’importance. Ceux qui sont désobéissants semblent jouir de voir leur leader se mettre en rage. Un proverbe dit : « Ne sois pas sévère, un homme sévère n’a pas de sujets». Le leader a besoin d’être patient à la fois avec ceux qui sont obéissants et ceux qui ne le sont pas, lesquels sont à sa charge. C’est ainsi qu’il pourra influencer positivement ses disciples. Cela s’applique à la fois à la congrégation de l’église et d’autres groupes de gens.

Point essentiel : Les leaders de l’église ne doivent pas s’emporter facilement, s’ils désirent être opérants.

Axe de prière : Saint-Esprit, accorde à nos leaders la patience à pleine dose.
