Spiritual Birth Through The Word

1 Pet. 1:20-25

Both the Old Testament and the New Testament are the records of God’s plan and implementation of that plan for man’s salvation through the atoning death of Jesus Christ. God’s word about man’s salvation in these two Testaments is the word being preached and it is through belief in this word that man obtains salvation. People are attracted to the Church using various ploys – promise of solution to every problem, assurance of admission into heaven irrespective of lifestyle being followed etc. The genuine word of God which brings salvation to souls and propels lasting revival emphasises that man must realise he is lost in sin, must repent of sin and must ask for forgiveness through the death of Jesus Christ. Adulterated gospel will not bring about salvation.

Point of Emphasis:    The incorruptible word of God brings spiritual birth to those who believe.

Prayer Point:             Father, grant us the grace to hold fast to the genuine word that brings salvation.

LA NAISSANCE SPIRITUELLE PAR LA PAROLE

1 PIE. 1 :20-25

L’Ancien tout comme le Nouveau Testament représentent les rapports du plan de Dieu et de la mise en vigueur de ce plan pour le salut de l’homme par la mort expiatoire de Jésus-Christ. La parole de Dieu concernant le salut de l’homme dans ces deux Testaments est la parole qui se prêche et c’est par la croyance en cette parole que l’homme obtient le salut. Les gens sont attirés à l’Eglise par l’usage de divers stratagèmes – promesse de solution à tout problème, l’assurance et l’adhésion au ciel indépendamment du style de vie mené, etc. La vraie parole de Dieu qui apporte le salut aux âmes et qui propulse un réveil durable insiste que l’homme doit se rendre compte qu’il n’est pas perdu dans le péché, qu’il doit se repentir du péché et doit demander le pardon du péché par la mort de Jésus-Christ. L’évangile falsifié n’occasionnera pas de salut.

Point essentiel : La parole incorruptible de Dieu apporte une naissance spirituelle chez ceux qui croient.

Axe de prière : Père, accorde-nous la grâce à nous en tenir à la vraie parole qui apporte le salut.
