God Is A Jealous God

Num. 25: 1-9

Israel the people of God started having sexual immorality with the daughters of Moab. From there, they moved on into idolatry, worshipping and sacrificing to Baal, the god of the Moabites. This was an outright contravention of the commandments of God, which forbade them from having any other God beside Him Yahweh. They were even committing adultery. This act of theirs provoked the anger of God causing all the heads of the people to be hanged and a plague took the lives of 24,000 people. This is supposed to serve as a warning to the Church to desist from all forms of idolatrous practices and adultery of the modern days. Although we are under the grace, God cannot dwell in any fold that engages in any form of idolatry or sexual immorality. Rather than His presence, it is His anger that hangs over such a fold.

Point of Emphasis:         God is a jealous God, He does not tolerate rivalry.

Prayer Point:                  O Lord, help me to be able to hold You supreme in all my situations and circumstances.

DIEU EST UN DIEU JALOUX

NOMBRES 25: 1-9

Israël, le peuple de Dieu se mit à avoir de l’immoralité sexuelle avec les filles de Moab. De là, ils s’engagèrent dans l’idolâtrie, adorant et faisant des sacrifices à Baal, le dieu des Moabites. Cela était une contravention catégorique des commandements de Dieu, lesquels leur interdisaient de n’avoir autre Dieu que lui l’Eternel. Ils commettaient même l’adultère. Leur acte provoqua la colère de Dieu entraînant ainsi la pendaison de tous les chefs du peuple et une plaie qui ôta la vie à 24000 personnes. Cela est supposé nous servir d’avertissement et à l’église de se désister de toutes formes de pratiques idolâtres et d’adultère des temps modernes. Bien que nous soyons sous la grâce, Dieu ne peut pas demeurer dans n’importe quelle église ou congrégation qui s’engage dans n’importe quelle forme d’idolâtrie ou d’immoralité sexuelle. Au lieu de sa présence, c’est plutôt sa colère qui pendra sur une telle église ou congrégation.

Point essentiel : Dieu est un Dieu jaloux; il ne tolère pas la rivalité.

Axe de prière : Seigneur, aide-moi à être en mesure de te tenir haut en toutes situations et circonstances.
