Inquire Diligently
Deut. 17:1-7
The Bible affirms that out of the mouth of two or three witnesses, the truth shall be established. Not even a witness is strong enough to base one’s judgment on. This is the reason why it is wrong to judge a matter based on a report from only one side. Whenever a report is brought to the authorities about the wrongdoing of a person, the Bible enjoins that diligent inquiry or investigation must be made to be able to establish the truth of the matter. All that are involved, directly, or indirectly, must be cross-examined so as not to unjustly punish an innocent person. Even in the law court, they prefer to allow many suspects to be freed than for a single innocent person to be unjustly punished.
Point of Emphasis: Don’t be in haste to judge a matter, investigate properly and establish the truth.
Prayer Point: Lord, help me to be swift to hear, slow to speak and slow to wrath (Jam. 1:19)
