Day Two morning session commenced with a prayer rain titled “War Against Agents of Confusion” in GOFAMINT, led by Pastor Austin Opara, Inspectorate Pastor of Region 4. Following this, Pastor Ayejuyole, the day’s moderator, moderated the morning which included the following elements:
– Praise and worship led by the praise team
– Morning supplication, where Evangelist Agbeni Ademola, the National Evangelist from Region 12, led the congregation on the prayer titled: Convention 2024 must witness an unusual harvest of miracles, signs, wonders, and testimonies.
Thereafter Hymn 351 was sung.
The Bible exposition focused on Philippians Chapter One, presented by Pastor Emmanuel Afolabi, the Assistant General Overseer for Training and Development.
The exposition outlined five main areas of focus:
Furthermore, it was noted that grace and peace cannot be erased from the church, with peace defined as “Shalom,” representing total peace of life equating to prosperity. The speaker emphasized that prayer should not be a matter of confidence but must be offered without ceasing. It was highlighted that Apostle Paul did not introduce himself with any title, asserting that there is no entitlement in titles; rather, what is essential is the mantle to perform. It was warned that possessing a title without a mantle could lead to conflict.
The speaker remarked that the fruit of righteousness equates to total salvation, cautioning that if one’s salvation remains hidden, they are not truly saved.
Characteristics of mature believers were outlined as follows:
The assertion was made that anything capable of stealing one’s joy can also rob life. The need for Christians to encourage one another was stressed, alongside the idea that love serves as a key distinguishing factor among believers. The gospel must be preached regardless of circumstances, reinforcing that if believers are indeed in Christ, they must acknowledge that God oversees their lives. A warning was given that those seeking fame may end up in flame.
The message concluded with an affirmation of the efficacy of prayer offered by the saints, the comfort provided by the Holy Spirit as a companion, and the reminder that Christ is only seen living through the body of those who are alive today. Persecutions were encouraged to be viewed as a privilege rather than a cause for fear.
The program continued with a series of events led by various pastors. Pastor Paul George, the District Pastor of Bariga, led a Thanksgiving for the answered prayers requested during the past convention. Following this, Pastor Amos Adeleke, the Inspectorate Pastor from Region 29, introduced the convention participants by regions, nations, and non-members of GOFAMINT. This was followed by a choir selection.
Teaching One was delivered by Pastor Dr. E.O. Abina, the General Overseer, who emphasized that where there is no peace, there is no joy. He noted that current events around the world serve as indicators of the pervasive lack of peace. He defined peace as a stress-free state of security or calmness that exists in the absence of fighting or war. For a child of God, peace is not merely the absence of trouble but rather the presence of a person who possesses everything needed for a good life, and that person is Jesus.
Pastor Dr. Abina quoted Mark 4:24, explaining that peace relates to welfare. He underscored that individuals are who they are not by accident, but by what God has ordained them to be. He highlighted the importance of peace, stating that it is peace that keeps one alive and referenced Mark 4:37. He further explained that “Shalom” means wholeness, with nothing missing, stolen, or decayed, representing total wholeness for man. He stressed that peace means to be unharmed and fortified, reminding attendees that while things and times change, Christ does not change.
To make God’s Shalom a reality in their lives, Pastor Dr. Abina emphasized that the following steps must be taken.
After his teaching, he made an altar call to those that want to give their life to Jesus, followed by announcements and orientation from the convention working committee. Pastor M.I. Jinadu coordinated the collection of the service offering, and the morning session concluded with a closing prayer and benediction.
