CANDIDATES OF THE KINGDOM

“Not everyone who says to ME: “Lord, Lord; shall enter the Kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?” “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me you who practice lawlessness” (Matt. 7:21-23).
Many of us must have read or heard the above statement of our Lord Jesus Christ in His sermons on the mountain. It is a statement that requires each Christian’s attention and careful self-examination. You don’t have to take the statement lightly if you actually want to go to heaven; because Jesus Himself has said, “heaven and earth will pass away but My words will not pass way”. From the statement under review, it is evident that not everyone who goes to church will enter the kingdom of God. Not even all the so-called miracle workers will enter the kingdom (mind you, I believe in miracles done by God through His real servants).
Working of miracles and casting out demons, as good as they are, are no license for heaven! You wonder why? Jesus said the only people that will enter the kingdom of God are those who, having accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour are filled with the Holy Spirit and continue to do the will of God; they are the candidates of the kingdom. You need to ask yourself if you are one of them. The gate of the kingdom is wide open for those who will enter but they are the people who do the will of God. This is a personal responsibility; your pastor cannot do it for you. Your parents cannot do it for you. It is your personal duty.
This is not legalism, no, it is far away from that. This question may arise: how do we know and do the will of God? The will of God is contained in the Bible, the word of God. In John 7:17AMP says: “If any man desires to do His will (God’s pleasure) he will know (have the needed illumination to recognize, and can tell for himself) whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking from Myself and of My own accord and on My own authority”. The Berean believers are a good example of this. (See Acts 17:11). Every believer, who is kingdom-minded and heaven-bound, studies the word of God to know the will of God. It is one thing to know the will of God, it is another thing to do the will of God. Both must go hand in hand. Jesus’ illustration in Matt. 7:24-29 which immediately follows the text of this message on “Building On The Rock And Building On The Sand”, is a good illustration on how to do the will of God.
Those who do the will of God are those who know it from studying the word of God and do or practise what they read. In other words, it is hearers, students, readers, and doers of the word of God that are candidates of the kingdom. (See James 1:21-27). You don’t need to attend a Bible College or Seminary for this before you meet this condition even if you are not educated. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. If you are not educated just hear and do what you hear from your spiritual leaders, the sound teaching of the word.
From this brief explanation you can know whether you are a candidate of the kingdom or not. This is not based on works, but God will not allow lawless people in His kingdom (see Rev. 21:7,8). The kingdom life must start from here. Any so-called Christian, who cannot do the will of God here on earth now, cannot do it if he/she gets to heaven. Again I say the kingdom life must start from here. I advise you to examine yourself and start doing the will of God. If the willingness is there, God has already provided the ability within you. Therefore, dare to be a candidate of the kingdom and it shall be well with you. Amen.

1. Father, renew my understanding of the existence of Your Kingdom.
2. Lord, empower me to be able to consecrate quality time to the study of Your word.
3. Father, let me find joy in practicing what Your word teaches me.

Les candidats du Royaume.
(Matt. 7:21-23)
« Ceux qui me disent: Seigneur, Seigneur! n’entreront pas tous dans le royaume des cieux, mais celui-là seul qui fait la volonté de mon Père qui est dans les cieux. Plusieurs me diront en ce jour-là: Seigneur, Seigneur, n’avons-nous pas prophétisé par ton nom? N’avons-nous pas chassé des démons par ton nom? et n’avons-nous pas fait beaucoup de miracles par ton nom? Alors je leur dirai ouvertement: Je ne vous ai jamais connus, retirez-vous de moi, vous qui commettez l’iniquité»
Beaucoup d’entre nous auraient lu ou appris de la déclaration ci-dessus de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ faite dans ses sermons sur la montagne. C’est une déclaration qui exige l’attention et l’examen de conscience de chaque chrétien. Tu ne dois pas la prendre à la légère si réellement tu désires aller au ciel car Jésus lui-même a dit : « Le ciel et la terre passeront, mais mes paroles ne passeront point ». De la déclaration soumise à notre étude, il est évident que ceux ne sont pas tous ceux qui vont à l’église qui entreront dans le royaume de Dieu. Pas même tous ces soi-disant faiseurs de miracles entreront dans le royaume des cieux (sache bien sûr que je crois moi-même aux miracles opérés par Dieu à travers ses vrais serviteurs). Faire des miracles et chasser les démons, aussi bons qu’ils demeurent, ne sont pas des passeports pour le royaume des cieux! Tu te poses la question de savoir pourquoi ? Jésus dit que les seules personnes qui entreront dans le royaume de Dieu sont ceux qui, ayant accepté Jésus comme leur Seigneur et Sauveur, sont remplis du Saint-Esprit et qui continuent à faire la volonté de Dieu ; ceux-là sont les candidats au royaume.
Tu as besoin de te poser la question de savoir si tu es l’un d’eux. La porte du royaume est grandement ouverte pour ceux qui entreront, mais ceux-là sont ceux qui font la volonté de Dieu. C’est une responsabilité personnelle. Ce n’est pas du légalisme, pas du tout et il est loin d’être cela. Cette question pourrait surgir : comment pouvons-nous connaître et faire la volonté de Dieu ? La volonté de Dieu est contenue dans la Bible, la parole de Dieu. Jean 7:17 (Version Amplifiée) affirme : « Si quelqu’un désire faire Sa volonté (le plaisir de Dieu), il saura (aura l’entendement requis pour reconnaître et pourra dire de lui-même) si la doctrine est de Dieu ou si je parle de moi-même ainsi que de Mon propre accord et de Ma propre autorité». Les croyants de Bérée en sont un bel exemple. (Cf. actes 17:11). Tout croyant ayant l’esprit branché sur le royaume et figé sur le ciel, étudie la parole de Dieu pour en connaître la volonté de Dieu. Connaître la volonté de Dieu est une chose et faire sa volonté en est une autre.
Les deux doivent aller de pair. L’illustration de Jésus dans Matthieu 7 :24-29 qui suit immédiatement le texte de ce message sur ‘bâtir sur le rocher et bâtir sur le sable’, est une bonne illustration de la question de savoir comment faire la volonté de Dieu. Ceux qui font la volonté de Dieu sont ceux qui la connaissent à partir de l’étude de sa parole et qui font ou pratiquent ce qu’ils lisent. Autrement dit, ce sont ceux qui écoutent, apprennent, font et lisent la parole de Dieu, qui sont les candidats au royaume. (Voir Jacques 1:21-27). Tu n’as pas besoin de fréquenter un institut biblique ou prendre part à un séminaire pour ceci avant de remplir cette condition même si tu n’es pas instruit. La foi vient de ce qu’on entend, et ce qu’on entend vient de la parole de Dieu. Si tu n’es pas instruit, écoute tout simplement et fais ce que tu entends de la vraie doctrine de tes dirigeants spirituels.
De cette explication brève, tu peux savoir si tu es un candidat au royaume ou pas. Cela n’est pas basé sur les œuvres mais sache que Dieu ne permettra pas aux sans foi ni loi d’hériter son royaume. (Apo. 21:7-8). La vie du royaume doit commencer ici-bas. Tout soi-disant chrétien qui ne peut pas faire la volonté de Dieu maintenant ici-bas, ne peut la faire quand il/elle arrivera au ciel. Je rappelle que la vie du royaume doit commencer ici-bas. Je te conseille de t’examiner toi-même et entreprends de faire la volonté de Dieu. Si la bonne volonté y est, Dieu a déjà placé en toi l’aptitude. Efforce-toi donc d’être un candidat du royaume et tu prospéreras. Amen.
