DAILY DEVOTIONAL READING

Thur. 21/1/2016

Endure, He Is With You

Matt. 10:16-22

It is obvious that those who are enemies of the cross will hate those who follow Jesus Christ. Do not be surprised if the hatred even arises from close members of your household. The persecution may go to the extent of being killed. There is the temptation to deny Jesus when one is faced with danger. You are being encouraged today that you should not deny Him. This is because; it is only those who endure to the end that will be saved. Remember (Ps. 34:19) and … for a little while … you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honour and glory.

Point Emphasis:         Real maturity often takes place in the crucible of pain.

Prayer points:           Lord God, give me the grace to endure to the end.
