Open Your House To The Ministers Of God

Acts 16:13-15, 40

In today’s text again, we have seen another great woman, Lydia, constraining (compelling) men of God she met to come and stay in her house.  Paul, Silas and Luke yielded to this call and they stayed with the woman.  After the events (vs16-39), they returned to the house of Lydia where they met other brethren.  She, like others, opened her house twice to the Apostle and it is strikingly stated of her that “she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul” (Vs. 14b). What an example for us! Providing accommodation for ministers of God is of great blessings.  In the past, that used to be the practice when churches had guest ministers.  Members opened their houses to such ministers but today, that is hardly done as guest ministers prefer staying in hotels thereby denying members of blessings that accompany accommodating ministers of God.  Let us consider this old and rewarding practice again

Point of Emphasis:      Open your house to the ministers of God.

Prayer Point:                           Lord, help our church to go back to that which was highly rewarding in the past

by opening our houses to ministers of God.
