Be Humble To Learn
1 Tim. 3:4-17
Paul was Timothy’s mentor. The contents of Paul’s letters to Timothy showed the robust advice Paul gave to his mentee not only in ministry but also regarding his health. Paul was learned in Jewish law, but he humbled himself to learn from believers he was first introduced to in Damascus. He and Barnabas sought the guidance and counsel of believers in Jerusalem when confronted with the questions of circumcision and food offered to idol. Those believers were not as learned or educated as Paul, but he was willing and prepared to learn from them. That is humility at work. Your father or mother, or former teacher in school or Elder in your church or your Sunday School teacher may not be as educated and privileged as you are, they may not be as rich as you are, but with humility, you can learn very useful lessons from them. As you continue with the vital lessons you have learned from your mentors, do not forget from whom you learned those lessons. Remember to appreciate them always.
Point of Emphasis: You can learn from less privileged people.
Prayer Point: God, release upon me the grace to be humble always.
