GET WISDOM

Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her. She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you” (Prov.4:7-9).

Wisdom is one of the most essential things any human being should get to make a successful life. The writer of this passage who happened to be the wisest man among humans says “Wisdom is the principal thing, Therefore get wisdom.” The word principal means: most important, consequential, influential or chief. So if you want to be successful in life you need to get wisdom. The Bible is replete with the records of those who were successful in their lifetime, among whom were:

(1) Joseph, a slave in Egypt who became the prime minister of Egypt; Pharoah the king of Egypt attested to this, “And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this in whom is the Spirit of God” Then Pharoah said to him, “In as  much as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you. You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word…” (Gen. 41:38-47).

(2) Bazalel who was able to do much in the building of the tabernacle was a man of wisdom, “And the Lord said to Moses, saying, See I have called by name Bazalel the son of Uri, of the tribe of Judah: And I have filled Him with the Spirit of God in wisdom and in understanding, and in knowledge, in all manner of workmanship.” (Exd.31:1-3;35:31)

(3) David who was the most popular, respected and famous of all the kings in Israel was a man of wisdom filled with the Spirit of God. (see Sam.16:13)f. He killed Goliath the most dreadful warrior among the Philistines see (1Sam. 17:48-54; 18:1-5) 1Sam.18:verse5 says, “And David went out withersoever Saul sent him, and behaved himself wisely: and Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul’s servants.”

(4) Solomon the son of David was rated the highest among all the kings of his time over till date because of the virtue of wisdom in him. “And God said unto him, …, Behold, I have done according to thy words; lo, I have given thee a wise and understanding heart; so that there was none like before thee, either after thee shall there arise like unto thee.” (1Kings 3:11a,12). The first judgment he made was in the case of the two harlots who had a dispute on the issue of whose child was the dead one and whose child was the living one. The case was a difficult issue to solve as it required wisdom. (1Kings 3:16-28). Verse 28 says, “And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had rendered; and they feared the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to administer judgment.”  The wisdom of God in him made him so popular that “…all the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.” (1Kings 10:24).

You can now imagine what wisdom can do in the life of any human being. Let me tell you that, trick is not wisdom. The above mentioned people were not successful by being trickish. It was rather the wisdom of God- the wisdom that God gives to man, by His Spirit. You need wisdom to be successful in business, in ministry, in your studies and so on.

But for you to get the wisdom you must:
(1)     Believe and accept Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord (1Cor. 1:30; God made Jesus wisdom for us)  and repent of your sins (Acts 2:37-39; 16:30).
(2)     Be born again and become a child of God (Jn. 1:11-13, Jn.3:1-8; Rm. 14:17)
(3)     Acknowledge God in all your ways (Prov. 3:16)
(4)     Not be wise in your own eyes (Prov. 3:7^a)
(5)     Fear the Lord and depart from all evil (Prov. 3:7^b)
(6)     Study the Bible and practice its principles. (Ps. 1:1-3)
(7)     Walk with godly wise people (Prov. 13:20)
(8)     Commit your way to the Lord (Ps. 37:5)
(9)     Be filled with the Spirit of God (Eph. 5:18)
(10)   Like Solomon, ask God to give you wisdom when you pray earnestly to Him in the prayer of faith (1kings 3:4-9)
(11)   Attend a Bible-based church so as to grow (Acts 2:42; Heb.10:25, 1 Pt. 3:18). I promise you when you do the above you will get the wisdom that will make you successful in this life and will enjoy eternal life with God in eternity. You cannot regret you did. Be blessed with the wisdom of God.

Prayer Points
(1)         Thank God that He gives man the wisdom to be successful in life.
(2)         Ask God to give you that wisdom if you have met the conditions above
(3)         Pray that sinners may accept Jesus as their Savior and Lord to be saved and get this wisdom, and enjoy eternal life.

ACQUIERS LA SAGESSE

« Voici le commencement de la sagesse: acquiers la sagesse, et avec tout ce que tu possèdes acquiers l’intelligence. Exalte-la, et elle t’élèvera; elle fera ta gloire, si tu l’embrasses; elle mettra sur ta tête une couronne de grâce, elle t’ornera d’un magnifique diadème». (Pr 4:7- 9) (VLS).

La sagesse est l’une des choses essentielles que tout être humain doit posséder pour réussir sa vie. L’auteur de ce passage qui s’avère être l’homme le plus sage parmi les humains dit : «la sagesse est la chose principale » le mot principale veut dire: plus importante, significative, influente. Si tu désires donc réussir dans la vie, tu as besoin d’acquérir la sagesse. La Bible regorge de récits de ceux qui furent fructueux au cours de leur vie parmi lesquels figurent :

(1) Joseph, alors esclave en Egypte devint Premier ministre d’Egypte. Pharaon, le roi d’Egypte témoigna de cela  « Et Pharaon dit à ses serviteurs…Et Pharaon dit à Joseph: puisque Dieu t’a fait connaître toutes ces choses, il n’y a personne qui soit aussi intelligent et aussi sage que toi. Je t’établis sur ma maison, et tout mon peuple obéira à tes ordres.… ». (Ge. 41 :38-47).

(2) Betsaleel qui fut capable de faire beaucoup pour la construction du tabernacle fut un homme plein de sagesse. (Voir 1Sam. 17:48-5). « L’Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit: sache que j’ai choisi Betsaleel, fils d’Uri, fils de Hur, de la tribu de Juda. Je l’ai rempli de l’Esprit de Dieu, de sagesse, d’intelligence, et de savoir pour toutes sortes d’ouvrages ». (Ex 31:1-3; 35:31).

(3) David qui était le plus populaire, le plus respecté et le plus célèbre de tous les rois d’Israël fut un homme de sagesse rempli de l’Esprit de Dieu. (cf. Sam. 16 :13). Il tua Goliath, le guerrier le plus redoutable parmi les Philistins. (cf. 1Sam. 17:48-54 ; 18:1-5). 1Samuel 18:5 dit : «David allait et réussissait partout où l’envoyait Saül; il fut mis par Saül à la tête des gens de guerre, et il plaisait à tout le peuple, même aux serviteurs de Saül».

(4) Salomon le fils de David était considéré comme le plus grand parmi tous les rois de son temps jusqu’à présent à cause de la vertu de la sagesse en lui. « Et Dieu lui dit… voici, j’agirai selon ta parole. Je te donnerai un cœur sage et intelligent, de telle sorte qu’il n’y aura eu personne avant toi et qu’on ne verra jamais personne de semblable à toi ». (1Rois 3:11-12). Le premier jugement qu’il prononça fut le cas de deux prostituées qui eurent un différend concernant le litige portant sur l’appartenance d’un bébé mort et d’un bébé vivant. Le procès fut un problème difficile à résoudre car cela exigeait de la sagesse.  (1Rois 3:16-28). Le verset 28 dit : « Tout Israël apprit le jugement que le roi avait prononcé. Et l’on craignit le roi, car on vit que la sagesse de Dieu était en lui pour le diriger dans ses jugements ». La sagesse de Dieu le rendit si populaire que « Tout le monde cherchait à voir Salomon, pour entendre la sagesse que Dieu avait mise dans son cœur » (1Rois 10:24)».

Tu peux dès lors imaginer ce que la sagesse peut faire dans la vie de tout être humain. Permets-moi de te dire que la ruse n’est pas de la sagesse. Ce n’est pas par la ruse que les personnages ci-dessus mentionnés  avaient réussi. C’était plutôt par la sagesse de Dieu en eux – celle que Dieu donne à l’homme par son Esprit. Tu as besoin de la sagesse pour réussir dans tes affaires, ton ministère, tes études et ainsi de suite. Mais afin d’acquérir la sagesse, tu dois :
(1)    croire et accepter Jésus comme ton Seigneur et Sauveur personnel. (1Cor. 1:30; Jésus a été fait sagesse pour nous, de par Dieu) et te repentir de tes péchés. (Actes 2 :37-39 ; 16 :30).
(2)    être né de nouveau et devenir enfant de Dieu. (Jean 1 :11-13 ; 3 :1-8 ; Rom. 14 :17).
(3)    reconnaître Dieu dans toutes tes voies. (Proverbes 3 :16).
(4)    pas être sage à tes propres yeux. (Proverbes 3 :7a).
(5)    craindre l’Eternel et te détourner du mal. (Proverbes 3 :7b).
(6)    étudier la Bible et pratiquer ses principes. (Ps. 1 :1-3).
(7)    marcher avec des gens sages et pieux. (Pro. 13 :20).
(8)    recommander ton sort à  l’Eternel. (Ps. 37 :5).
(9)    être rempli du Saint-Esprit. (Eph. 5 :18).
(10)    A l’instar de Salomon, demander à Dieu de te donner la sagesse en lui adressant avec instance tes prières dans la foi. (1 Rois 3:4-9).
(11)    fréquenter une église ancrée dans la Bible pour ta croissance. (Actes 2 :42 ; Héb. 10 :25 ; 1Pierre 3 :18). Je te promets que si tu fais ce qui est dit ci-dessus, tu acquerras la sagesse qui te fera réussir dans cette vie et tu jouiras de la vie éternelle avec Dieu dans l’éternité. Tu ne regretteras pas d’avoir fait cela. Sois béni avec la sagesse de Dieu.

Axes de Prière:
(1)    Remercie Dieu de ce qu’il nous donne la sagesse pour réussir dans la vie.
(2)    Demande à Dieu de te donner la sagesse au cas où tu as pu satisfaire aux conditions mentionnées ci-dessus.
(3)    Prie pour que les pécheurs puissent accepter Jésus comme leur Seigneur et Sauveur pour qu’ils soient sauvés et qu’ils acquièrent la sagesse dont il est question et qu’ils jouissent de la vie éternelle.
