Godly Sorrow Leads To Repentance And Restoration
Peter denied his Lord thrice few hours after the Master had predicted it. The Bible records that Peter wept bitterly after remembering the words of Jesus that before the cock crew three times he would have denied Him thrice! Peter did not just express sorrow for denying his Lord, he repented and accepted forgiveness. This was evidenced as he became pivotal in bringing other disciples together and in the defence of the gospel immediately after Christ’s departure (Acts 1:15, 16). However, this event has taught people different lessons down the ages. Let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he falls. Let’s distrust our own heart and ability and rely wholly on the Lord.
Point of Emphasis: When convicted of sin, repent and accept God’s forgiveness
Prayer Point: O Lord, please restore me wherever I have erred so that I will not miss out on Your plan and purpose for my life.
