Psalm 91:9-10 King James Version (KJV)
9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

COVID-19 is a serious health threat, and the situation is evolving daily. Things are changing every day and the risk will vary from one place to the other. However, in times like this, there is safety in obedience. The Israelites were preserved in the night of the Passover because they followed the instruction prescribed by God through his servant Moses. They stayed indoors when they were told to do so and they escaped the wrath of the angel of destruction. Nothing was missing, nobody died in Goshen. This is our covenant provision, therefore let us abide by regulations from appropriate authorities.
Below are some tips which can help us through this period.

Disease prevention

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • If you cough or sneeze, do it into your sleeve, elbow or use a tissue. Dispose of the tissue
  • immediately into a closed rubbish bin, and then clean your hands.
  • Clean surfaces regularly with disinfectant. For example: always clean kitchen benches and work desks.

If you feel unwell

  • Avoid traveling if you have a fever and/or cough. Once you get home, make contact with a health
  • professional and tell them about where you have been.
  • If you feel unwell, stay at home and call your healthcare provider.
  • Reach out to us, there will be prayer

Managing rising anxiety

Be encouraged:

1 Peter 5:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
7 casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].

  • It’s normal to feel sad, stressed, confused, scared or angry during a crisis. Talking to people you trust can help, like friends, family or your fellow community members.
  • If you must stay at home, maintain a healthy lifestyle, including proper diet, sleep, exercise. Keep up with loved ones at home by email and phone and connect with your larger church community for support.
  • If you feel overwhelmed, talk to your pastor or counsellor. Have a plan on where to go to and how to seek help for physical and mental health needs if required.
  • Pray and read your bible.

Make the best of the moment

  • Don’t take a vacation from your faith, follow instructions relating to gathering for fellowship as directed by your pastor.
  • Use this period of restricted movement to feed your spirit.
  • Study the bible
  • Pray
  • Join us for online services.

Finally remember that this too shall pass away.

Isaiah 26:3 New King James Version (NKJV)
3 You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.
