Speak Lord For Your Servant Hears

1 Sam. 3:1-10

Today’s passage reveals certain lessons (i) God can speak to both old and young people. Samuel was still young when God spoke to him (ii) The fact that one is going to Church or even sleeping in the Church does not mean that one will recognise God’s voice when He speaks but one needs to develop and cultivate the habit of having intimacy with God to be able to recognise His voice when He speaks. Though Samuel was sleeping in the Church, yet the Bible says for he has not yet known the Lord nor was the word of the Lord yet revealed to him (v.7) (iii) God does not give up speaking to people. He didn’t abandon Samuel after speaking three times to him and couldn’t recognise Him, He still went ahead to speak to him. God is still speaking to you now, can you hear Him?

Point of Emphasis:     Recognising God’s voice requires intimacy with Him.

Prayer Point:              Help me Lord to distinguish Your voice from men’s voice.

PARLE, ETERNEL CAR TON SERVITEUR ECOUTE

1SAM. 3:1-10

Le passage d’aujourd’hui révèle certaines leçons: (i) Dieu peut parler à la fois aux jeunes et aux adultes. Samuel était encore jeune quand Dieu lui parla (ii) le fait d’aller à l’église et même de dormir dans l’église ne veut pas dire que l’on peut reconnaîtra la voix de Dieu quand il parle mais que l’on doit développer et cultiver l’habitude d’avoir une intimité avec Dieu afin d’être en mesure de reconnaître sa voix quand il parle. Quoique Samuel dormait dans l’église, encore est-il que la Bible dit qu’il n’avait pas encore connu l’Eternel et que la parole de Dieu ne lui avait pas encore été révélée. (v.7). (iii) Dieu ne se démet pas de parler aux gens. Il n’a pas abandonné Samuel après lui avoir parlé trois fois et que ce dernier n’a pu le connaître. Il continua à lui parler. Dieu te parle à présent, peux-tu l’entendre ?

Point essentiel : Reconnaître la voix de Dieu requiert une intimité avec lui.

Axe de prière : Seigneur, aide-moi à distinguer ta voix de celle des gens.
