Sin’s Reward Is Infectious

Jos. 7:1-25

What was the sin of Achan? Stealing and covetousness. He confessed after he had been detected, “I coveted them and took them” (v.21). But do you know that it was not only Achan that was punished for the sin he committed? The Lord started with his nation, because of the corporate covenant that Israel had with God, for 36 Israelites died at the battle front (v. 5). Then his sons and daughters were also stoned and burnt with him (vv. 24-25). Know that you will not be the only one that will reap the reward of your sin, those around you will also partake. If you, therefore, love your family, you should desist from those sinful acts and habits that can bring punishment on them.

Point of Emphasis:        Sin brings punishment on the offenders and their associates.

Prayer Point:            Lord, help me not to do anything that will bring punishment on my family, my Church and my nation.

LA RECOMPENSE DU PECHE EST CONTAGIEUSE 

JOS. 7 :1-25

Que fut le péché d’Acan? Le vol et la convoitise. Il confessa après que cela ait été découvert. « …je les ai convoités, et je les ai pris…» (v. 21). Mais sais-tu que ce n’était pas Acan seul qui fut puni pour le péché qu’il commit ? L’Eternel commença par sa nation à cause de l’alliance collective qu’Israël eut avec Dieu car trente-six (36) Israelites moururent au champ de bataille. (v.5). Puis ses fils et ses filles furent aussi lapidés et brulés vifs avec lui. (vs. 24-25). Sache que tu ne seras pas le seul à ‘moissonner’ la récompense à ton péché, ceux qui t’entourent en feront aussi partie. Si ainsi tu aimes ta famille, désiste-toi de ces actes et attitudes de péché qui peuvent leur attirer la punition de Dieu.

Point essentiel : Le péché attire la punition sur les contrevenants et leurs associés.

Axe de prière : Seigneur, aide-moi à ne rien faire qui puisse attirer la punition sur ma famille, mon église, et ma nation.
