HAVE YOU FOUND HIM?

One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus. Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is translated, A Stone). The following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found Philip and said to him, “Follow Me.”  Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.   Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”And Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see” (Jn. 1:40-46).

The four-letter title of this message is an important question which every child of God needs to answer personally. “Have you found Him? Found who? JESUS. If your answer is yes, what have you done about Him since you found Him in connection with the Scripture passage selected for this message?

We found in our passage two different persons, Andrew & Philip, who actually found Jesus and did what each faithful-finder of Jesus should do – telling others whom he/she has found. Andrew brought Peter to Jesus. Philip found Jesus and told Nathaniel “we have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets wrote- Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”  When Nathaniel was arguing if anything good could come out of Nazareth, Philip simply told him “Come and see”.  This should be the attitude of anyone, young or old, male or female who really found Jesus and who Jesus is. No human being, who has truly found Jesus and had personal relationship with Him would ever seal his/her lips without telling others about Him. Notice that each of these young men- Andrew and Philip brought their acquaintances to Jesus.

Notice again that they were not even told to tell others about Him before they started doing that, this was the proof that they have actually found Jesus, she left her water pot, went to the city and proclaimed, “come, see a Man who told me all things I ever did. Could this be the Christ”. Men of the city came out, followed her and saw Jesus, at the end they said to the woman”…. we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world” (Jn.4:42^b).

The first test whether or not you know Jesus or found Him is how often you tell others about Him and also bring those whom you told to Him. Anything short of this is evidence that you have never found Him, and if you have found Him, this is your time to prove it, go out like Andrew and Philip and say, I have found Him- Jesus the Savior of the world.
The Holy Spirit will help you and the presence of Jesus will be with you according to His promise. (Matt. 28:20).

L’AS-TU TROUVE ?

« André, frère de Simon Pierre, était l’un des deux qui avaient entendu les paroles de Jean, et qui avaient suivi Jésus. Ce fut lui qui rencontra le premier son frère Simon, et il lui dit: Nous avons trouvé le Messie (ce qui signifie Christ). Et il le conduisit vers Jésus. Jésus, l’ayant regardé, dit: Tu es Simon, fils de Jonas; tu seras appelé Céphas (ce qui signifie Pierre). Le lendemain, Jésus voulut se rendre en Galilée, et il rencontra Philippe. Il lui dit: Suis-moi. Philippe était de Bethsaïda, de la ville d’André et de Pierre. Philippe rencontra Nathaniel, et lui dit: Nous avons trouvé celui de qui Moïse a écrit dans la loi et dont les prophètes ont parlé, Jésus de Nazareth, fils de Joseph. Nathaniel lui dit: Peut-il venir de Nazareth quelque chose de bon? Philippe lui répondit: Viens, et vois » (Jean. 1 :40-46).

Les quatre lettres de ce message représentent une question importante dont il est besoin pour chaque enfant de Dieu de répondre personnellement. « L’as-tu trouvé ? » Trouvé qui ? Jésus. Si ta réponse est oui, qu’as-tu fait à son sujet depuis que tu l’as trouvé en rapport avec le passage de l’Ecriture choisi pour ce message ?

Nous découvrons dans notre passage deux différents personnages, André et Phillip qui ont réellement trouvé Jésus et firent ce que doit faire chaque véritable trouveur de Jésus – de dire aux autres celui qu’il/elle a trouvé. André emmena Pierre à Jésus. Phillip trouva Jésus et informa Nathaniel : « Nous avons trouvé celui de qui Moïse a écrit dans la loi et dont les prophètes ont parlé, Jésus de Nazareth, fils de Joseph» Quand Nathaniel argumentait si quelque chose de bon pourrait venir de Nazareth, Phillip lui dit simplement : « Viens, et vois »  Cela doit être l’attitude de quiconque, soit jeune ou vieux, homme ou femme ayant véritablement trouvé Jésus et celui qu’il est. Aucun être humain ayant réellement trouvé Jésus et eu une relation personnelle avec lui ne tiendrait jamais sa bouche fermée sans parler aux autres à propos de lui. Note que chacun de ces jeunes hommes André et Phillip emmenèrent à Jésus leurs accointances.

Note encore qu’on ne leur a même pas demandé de parler de lui aux autres avant qu’ils aient commencé à faire cela. C’était là la preuve qu’ils avaient réellement trouvé Jésus.   « Jean 4:29 Venez voir un homme qui m’a dit tout ce que j’ai fait; ne serait-ce point le Christ? » Les gens de la ville sortirent et la suivirent pour voir Jésus et en fin de compte dirent à la femme : « …car nous l’avons entendu nous-mêmes, et nous savons qu’il est vraiment le Sauveur du monde » (Jean 4:42^b ).

Le premier test à savoir si tu connais ou si tu as trouvé Jésus est combien de fois parles-tu de lui aux autres et lui emmène ceux à qui tu leur en as parlé. Tout manquement à cela démontre que tu ne l’as jusqu’ici pas encore  trouvé et si tu l’as trouvé, voici le moment pour toi de le prouver. Vas comme André et Phillip et dis : « je l’ai trouvé – Jésus le Sauveur du monde»
Le Saint-Esprit t’aidera et la présence de Jésus sera avec toi selon sa promesse. (Matt. 28 :20).
