Saul, The Persecutor

Acts 8: 1-3

Paul was very religious. His training under Gamaliel added to his skill in tormenting and persecuting believers. He was a good Pharisee who knew the Old Testament and sincerely believed that the new Christian movement was dangerous to Judaism. Paul hated the Christian faith and persecuted Christians without mercy, though his intentions and efforts were sincere. There are a lot of terrorists like Paul who are out to unleash terror on anybody or group of people who claim to be ‘born again’ or believers. Fro groups like ISIS, Boko Haram etc, their mission is to kill and destroy. What is our response to all these groups and acts of terrorism? The only force that can stop them is the power of God and how can this happen? This is a question for thought.

Point of Emphasis:      Preach the word without fear or shame.

Prayer:                        Lord, deliver me from every spirit of fear, shame that will make me afraid of any persecution that can arise as a result of my preaching the gospel and standing for the truth.
