DAILY DEVOTIONAL READING
Earthly Minded Or Heavenly Minded
Today’s passage provides us with hints on the two categories of Christians in the church – the earthly-minded and the heavenly-minded. Earthly-minded Christians are always preoccupied with worldly affairs, pursuits, and desires; they are not ready to walk the humble path of Jesus; they want to gain the whole world; they pride themselves in things they should be ashamed of etc. However, the heavenly-minded believers are conscious that they are pilgrims on the earth, and that their citizenship is in heaven. These Christians live each day in the consciousness of Christ’s imminent return. We should be careful not to choose the way of these enemies of the cross; if we do, we shall share their end.
Point of Emphasis: To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life.
Prayer Point: O Lord, help me to remain focused, and not to be distracted by the ungodly who seem to be having everything working for them.
