Message from Pastor (Dr) E. O. Abina,
The General Overseer of GOFAMINT
CAN THE CHURCH DELAY OR HASTEN THE RETURN OF THE LORD?
11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
The question above may raise some arguments if it is not addressed accordingly. In my previous message I made mention about this topic but I did not elaborate on it. Many
of the signs of the second coming of the Lord had been fulfilled and are being fulfilled. But there is one yet to be fulfilled which may raise some arguments if it is not thoughtfully ruminated upon- and addressed, that is the gospel to reach the hearing of every nations.
Those of us who live in this part of the enlightened world may not believe that there are countries that have not been able to enjoy the several means of communications we enjoy in this part of the world. Believe it or not I don’t think that God will judge those who did not hear the gospel to believe what they did not hear. This is a burden on us. Angels will not come from heaven to preach the gospel to the world. They did that the day the Savior of the world was born. You and I have been saddled with that responsibility. We must do it. Listen to what God said to the prophet Ezekiel in Ezek. 3:16-21.
16 Now it came to pass at the end of seven days that the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me: 18 When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. 19 Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul. 20 “Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die; because you did not give him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand. 21 Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man that the righteous should not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he took warning; also you will have delivered your soul.”
Like this prophet, God has made every Christian a watchman to this generation, not just pastors or elders alone but all saved, converted and born again Christians as watchmen to this generation. It is our responsibility to preach the gospel to this dying and perishing world- it is perilous times. II Tim. 3:1-5.
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
I advise you to heed the warning in verse 5 and it shall be well with you.
